Lexie is anxious about her first day of school. Her mother encourages her to bring Little Mouse with her for support. Lexie is surprised when he comes to life and talks her through the day! Little Mouse helps Lexie realize that she can overcome her fear and embrace her independence.
By Kristin Auchter
Kristin Auchter lives in Upstate New York and began telling stories of "Lexie" to her daughter, Alexa. Each story was an adventure that taught Lexie a life lesson or dispelled a childhood fear. Working with Mel Colwell as illustrator, Kristin was able to bring the stories of Lexie to life in hopes that they would inspire parents and children alike. Kristin is dedicating 100% of current proceeds from "Lexie and Little Mouse Go To School" to benefit The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC/NY). Because many children each year are victims of attempted abductions while traveling to or from school, or school related activities, each book will include inserts with safety tips to educate parents on how to keep their children safe.
The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children’s (NCMEC/NY) mission is to help prevent child abduction and sexual exploitation; help find missing children; and assist victims of abduction and sexual exploitation, their families, and the professionals who serve them.
